We went to Ft Meyers because it was half way between Sumter Oaks RV Park and the winery we stayed at to visit Key West.
The damage caused by Hurricane Helene was evident everywhere. The RV park where we stayed was completely full of mobile homes before the storm. They are converting to a mix of mobile homes and RVs. They had just reopened and we got discounted rates.
We spent Christmas driving around Ft Meyers looking at lights and cooking an excellent meal. We also decorated the rig.
The area at Ft Meyers Beach was too torn up to enjoy. We heard that it used to be beautiful and a great place to take walks.

Turns out Martha’s 7th grade math teacher lives in Ft Meyers and they had a 55 yr reunion! She took us to lunch at a nice harbor restaurant.
