We stayed on Tybee Island, a small town about 7 miles east of Savannah. It is a resort town, though empty in the off season when we were there.
The campground sits right at the mouth of the Savannah River. It is a 3 block walk East to the Atlantic Ocean beach and a 2 block walk North to the River beach. This was a great place to take the kitties outside. Lots of area to explore. The tides here range 6 to 10 feet twice a day. The beaches are completely covered in small shells. The island is mostly made up of marsh flats.
While we were here we went to the local YMCA for a month and played Pickleball 3 times a week. We made new Pickleball friends and even got good enough to be competitive with other players. We also got to practice dancing again for the first time in a couple of months.
