Savannah is laid out with many Squares (Parks) throughout. They are mostly on two main streets and are every other block. The smaller parks all have a central statue. Each Square Park is one square block, except for Forsyth Park.
Forsyth Park is very large. It has massive lawn areas where kids play soccer, others play volleyball and Frisbee. There is also a large pavilion where they have outdoor concerts. On Saturdays they hold a Farmer’s Market with food and art and music.
The movie Forrest Gump was filmed in Savannah and the bench where Forrest sat was in Chippewa Square.
