This swamp was just a few miles from our RV park. Our bike ride went down to the head of this swamp.
We took a 2 hour tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable. The homes in the photos are accessible only by water. They have electricity and running water.
The alligators were about 3 feet long, we learned they grow about a foot per year the first 6 years.
The racoons are visited so often they have become comfortable with people and come right up to the boats.
The knobby Cypress tree in picture 15 is estimated to be approximately 800 years old.
The swamps are quiet and picturesque….. and no mosquitoes because its moving water.
