The stay in Carlsbad was a wind experiment gone wrong. The Caverns however were everything you imagine and more. Rooms of it. The photos don’t do it justice. There is actually an Elevator that descends 750 ft. We decided to do the walk via the Natural entrance, The very bright images we took on a second trip, we got in for free, and re walked the rooms, taking time to use a tripod to get more light.
The cave system has an unusual growth slowly covering all the standard results like sheets and stalagmites/tites. The stuff looks like cauliflower and dribbled beach sand. No one knows what or why this is happening. Likely pollution.
