Death Valley as it name states, is a desolate place of dirt and stone. What vegetation survives is sparse. An occasional shrub masses in the shadows and pits. It is starkly beautiful.
Layers of various rock show artistic displays. Even the salt enjoys the crystalline chaos that is the salt flats in Bad water basin.
We only touched a small portion of the Valley. We were lucky to be able to see a rare formation of a 6 mile long, foot deep lake in the salt flats. We’ve created a unique post for each area.
