Kansas City is always thought to be in Kansas, but is a split city, with the more modern half being in Missouri. We stayed in Lees Summit, a suburb of KC, just east of it. We drove across Kansas in a single day, and had a blowout just miles from the Missouri border. We’re fairly sure the poor condition of the hwy was the cause. We actually met a couple that had just driven the same route, and had the same tire blowout in the same manner. The entire tread came off.
We planned a one week stay, when our main slideout broke the day we were leaving. We stayed a month till it was repaired. Luck was with us, the Blue Springs County Park was amazing, the sites isolated and large, the kitties were out most nights on long walks.
While here we did stay in a different rv park for two nights as our sudden issue had us unplanned on Labor Day weekend. As we drove into the temporary digs, we found out a giant weeklong festival was ongoing, just blocks from our site. We also had time during the month to play disc golf and practice our dumpling skills. We visited a park with tons of hummingbird feeders setup.
