Another short ferry ride across the Sound and we were in Seattle.
We went to Pike Place Market, home of throwing fish… It’s a massive loose group of craft and crap filled stores. Also, fresh fish and meats at top prices. The picture of the salmon in the Olympic Peninsula post is a piece of Coho salmon from Copperhead River. We paid $15.99/lb at a local store. At Pike we saw it for $75/lb – same fish! The Cheese in pic 15 is from a small Swiss town we visited in 2015.
We visited Martha’s childhood friend in Seattle. They had not seen each other in over 40 years, though they kept in contact over the years. Her friend is a master gardener and gave us a private viewing of her magnificent yard. Her garden will be featured in the West Seattle Garden Tour In June 2024.
