At the base of the trail to Toketee falls (Pics 1 – 14) there is a massive water pipe made from Rewood. Its 12 feet in diameter and 1500 feet long. Its was built 1949 as a leg of a Power plant. YES! those are leaks, and in one photo you can see they used wooden staves to plug a hole…
The trail to the falls is really quite long and is very steep in places, but worth the walk. The river before the falls has dug several tube like chambers from years of wter erosion. The falls occur through an opening in a basalt formation. The shapes are very geometric.
Watson Falls (pics 15 – 27) is the tallest waterfall in Southern Oregon. The trail up follows the river descending from the falls. There is a viewing platform spanning the river halfway to the falls.
